The Look of the ‘Cado…

How many times have you tried to dice an avocado only to have it fall to mush all over the place? It does not matter what it looks like if you’re making some guacamole. Some people would go so far to say that it never matters because it all looks the same once digested. I like mine looking a certain way if I’m using it as a garnish or making a salad out of it. Let’s face it, if you’re reading this, you like yours to have a certain look too.

Be sure that the avocado is firm enough to hold the shape when cut, but ripe enough to have flavor! Ah yes, the search for the perfect ‘cado can elude the best of us sometimes. Maybe not.

I use this technique to make an Easy Citrus Avocado Tomato Recipe. Details in the recipe below.

Items Needed

  • Ripe Avocado
  • Knife
  • Spoon

Directions

  1. After cutting avocado in half, twist both halves in opposite directions while pulling apart.
  2. Remove avocado nut and throw it out and plant it. Kidding. Don’t plant it. It won’t grow into a fruit bearing plant. Now you’re curious and you’re going to try it, aren’t you? Don’t do it. I was kidding.
  3. Place knife in the meat of the avocado and cut straight lines to form squares.
  4. Take spoon and scoop out the avocado.
  5. Look at your pretty squares and smile. You did it.
  6. Use it to make an Easy Citrus Avocado Tomato Salad.
