Easy Turkey Sloppy Joe Egg Rolls

We were looking to make something quick with our left over broccoli cole slaw and ground turkey. These Easy Turkey Sloppy Joe Egg Rolls are sure to be a hit with adults and kiddos. They are the perfect combination of crunchy, sweet and savory. You don’t need any dipping sauces for these since the filling is full of flavor.

Easy Turkey Sloppy Joe Egg Rolls



  1. EVOO – 1 Tbs.
  2. Sweet Onion, diced – 1
  3. Paprika – 2 tsp.
  4. Large Carrot, diced – 1
  5. Minced Garlic – 1 Tbs.
  6. Ground Turkey – 1 lb.


  1. Yellow Mustard – 1 tsp.
  2. Ketchup – 3/4 c.
  3. Brown Sugar – 3 tsp.
  4. Cinnamon – 1/4 tsp.
  5. Worcestershire Sauce – 1 Tbs.
  6. Rice Vinegar – 1 tsp.
  7. Water – 1/4 c.
  8. Black Pepper – to taste
  9. Salt – to taste
  10. Broccoli Cole Slaw – 1/2 c.

20 Egg Roll Wrappers

Vegetable or Canola Oil – 1 to 2 inches deep in frying pan


  1. For Filling: In a medium skillet over medium heat, saute onion and then brown the ground turkey with carrots, paprika and garlic; drain off liquids.
  2. Stir in the mustard, ketchup, brown sugar, cinnamon, Worcestershire Sauce, Rice Vinegar and water; mix thoroughly. Reduce heat, and simmer for 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Stir in broccoli cole slaw and let cool for a few minutes.
  4. Before wrapping the rolls, begin to heat 2-3 inches oil in large frying pan to very hot (350ºF).
  5. Lay wrap in front of you so that it looks like a diamond.
  6. Place 3 tablespoons pork filling in center of egg roll wrapper.
  7. Fold bottom point up over filling and roll once.
  8. Fold in right and left points.
  9. Brush beaten egg on top point.
  10. Finish rolling.
  11. Set aside and repeat with remaining filling.
  12. Fry a few egg rolls in pan at a time, 2-3 minutes per side.
  13. Drain on paper towels.

  1. I’m not really a fan of turkey since I find it to be lacking in flavor. But putting it in an egg roll? I would have never thought to do that. Plus the inside is filled with it’s own sauce! I’m going to try this next week with my family.
